a esta edad me preguntan
si deseo tener hijos
temo pensar que nadie sabe
cómo ser un buen pariente
sueño a veces con un niño sofocado
lo he olvidado en una camioneta
cuarenta grados y las puertas son ladrillos
otras veces es un trozo de carne
que deshielo paciente bajo el agua
en mis sueños no puede decir sí
al pasar los días nuestra afinidad crece
y cada noche devuelvo la habilidad
de escurrir agua por los ojos

mi madre me pide que busquemos la casa
que llenó mi abuelo de tejuelas
este es su lugar de nacimiento
un pueblo de una sola cuadra
un río que brilla como una espada
tras la cerca veo la inflamación de la madera
la historia del niño que no llega a ser adulto
mis tías que peinan la hierba de su cráneo
solo consigo rasguños en las piernas
la mirada de un perro que sospecha
mi madre se ofusca
divide a las personas entre las que desean
y no desean recordar
encuentro
pasaron varios años
para sentarnos como dos personas
que alguna vez se amaron mucho
nuestras inquietudes regresan veladas
te quejas de una picadura de insecto
que ha tomado todo un brazo
me muestras fotos de tu perro ya viejo
tu padre que se ha ido al sur
a devolver su espíritu
no podría explicar mi sensación en el teatro
cuando apoyé mi cabeza sobre tu hombro
como una obligación

no saber en qué consiste una casa
no distinguir las vigas que la sostienen
anillos de árboles que se despuntan
en veladores o respaldos de catre
con el tiempo uno deja de sorprenderse
aparecen muebles en habitaciones ajenas
cajones y repisas desperdigados
la consistencia no debería medirse por las cosas
pero ahí están jarrones manteles maceteros
el ciervo de madera emergiendo de la pared
el búho de piedra roja que alguna vez
arrojaron a la cabeza de mi padre
